I write books, produce events and hang heavy things for rockstars, although in far from equal measure these days.

My kung fu fantasy series Jamie Reign, is based on my partner's childhood growing up in a fishing village in Hong Kong. The story took shape while we were both in Hong Kong co-ordinating the Handover Celebrations. The kung fu parts came a little later, form the set of The Matrix, where I watched fight director Wu Ping train the stars.

The first book in the series; The Last Spirit Warrior was shortlisted for the Readings Children’s Book Prize. My new work delves into the concert world where I have spent many years backstage, working on and above some of the biggest stages in the world.

I live, work and write in Sydney Australia.

The Lost Soul

Jamie Reign is not my story, it belongs to a real boy who grew up in a small fishing village on the edge of the South China Sea. He spent his childhood working on salvage boats and wondering why his mother abandoned him. The first chapter is very much lifted from his life.

The real Jamie grew up to be extraordinary and we have built a life together. When I sent in search of the stories I would write, I found the greatest one in the man right beside me.

The Jamie Reign series is for my James, and our children.

Nice Things People Have Said

An intriguing and ingenious new angle on fantasy adventure:

Chinese martial arts and mysticism, a young Eurasian boy trying to come to terms with his own arcane powers, and an evil, all powerful villain who's the stuff of nightmares.

Jamie Reign keeps the plot bubbling and the pages turning.

A fast-paced page-turner!

Thoroughly enjoyed it

LAUNCESTON EXAMINER

I inmmediately decided the frank, funny, super-likeable PJ was my very good friend, whether she fancied it or not.

Hmmm, hijacking people into friendship seems to be my thing?
